Maple Syrup Production at UConn Forest

One of the best-kept secrets at UConn - at the end of each winter members of the UConn Forestry and Wildlife Club bring out the taps, buckets and tubes to collect maple sap for syrup.

Sugar maple trees at sugarbush locations on UConn Forest are designated for sap collection. The sap is collected and boiled at our own sugar house for sale, for fun and for teaching others about the process.
